It would be nice if lubricants or moisturizers always solved the problem. But sometimes the vaginal walls are so thin and so dry that the only way to reverse the vaginal clock and have sex that isn't excruciatingly painful is to bite the bullet and get a prescription. Lubricants grease the skids- they don’t change the tissue. Lubricants don’t help with any of the non-sexual symptoms of genitourinary syndrome of medicine.
This episode is a rundown of the seven prescription products* that restore lubrication, and elasticity to vaginal tissue, alleviate nonsexual symptoms such as burning and irritation, and also help get control of your out-of-control bladder.
Products*: Estrogen creams, vaginal tablets, ring, (Estring,™) inserts (Imvexxy™,) DHEA/Prasterone (Intrarosa™) and ospemifene (Osphena™)
